You need
- to be 18 years old
- to pass the ADAPT pre-pilot screening test
- a New Zealand Private Pilot Licence
- a New Zealand Commercial Pilot Helicopter Licence
- to complete a minimum 150 hours flying
- to pass a medical assessment
- to pass a police check
- a NZCAA medical certificate
You may need
- a New Zealand Diploma in Aviation (Aeroplane and Helicopter) (Level 6)
- to complete a training course and join the Royal New Zealand Air Force
- Flight Instructor Training (C Category)
If you’re in school
You usually don’t need specific NCEA levels for this job, but Level 3 may be useful.
