- calculate weight and volume of cargo

- drive cargo between locations
- operate cargo loaders and lift trucks
- guide aircraft and secure into position
- drive trucks to tow aircraft
- train workers on safety procedures
You need experience to become an aircraft loader and a qualification may be useful.

- experience in similar work
You may need
- a New Zealand Certificate in Aviation (Ground Handling) (Level 3) with strands in Air Cargo, and Ramp Operations
- a driver licence
- an airport identity card
- an airside driving permit
If you’re in school
You usually don’t need specific NCEA levels for this job.
