Who we are
Ko wai mātou,

When we say ‘we’, we mean the Tertiary Education Commission Te Amorangi Mātauranga Matua. We are the New Zealand Government agency that runs Tahatū.

We are the kaitiaki of Aotearoa New Zealand’s tertiary education and careers system. Our purpose is to shape a dynamic system that delivers lifelong learning and equips learners, communities and employers for success.
