Plant and machinery valuers
- usually work regular business hours but may work evenings and weekends
- usually work in offices and may travel locally and nationally
- need to be accurate, responsible and communicate well
Tasks
- check how much machinery and equipment are worth
- look at the condition of equipment
- research prices and market demand
- work out value and replacement costs of equipment
- write reports to show equipment value
- check asset values for insurance purposes
- help with insurance claims and renewals
- follow valuation rules and standards
- help with disputes and legal issues

You usually learn on the job to become a plant and machinery valuer and a qualification may be useful.
