You need a qualification to become a medical laboratory pre-analytical technician.
You need
- a New Zealand Diploma in Applied Science (Level 5) from Ara Institute of Canterbury
- a Qualified Medical Laboratory Technician certificate in phlebotomy, donor technology or specimen services OR
- a Bachelor of Science in a relevant biological science
- an Annual Practising Certificate
- to pass a police check

- a driver licence
