Nau mai, welcome to the Tahatū Career Navigator resources section. Here you’ll find videos, guides, activities to use in the classroom and information about Tahatū for educators, learners and whānau.

    How to videos

    Ngā rauemi mā te kaiwhakaako,

    Onboarding welcome and training videos
    Ngā ataata huataki mahi me te whakangungu,

    These training videos are recordings of the in-person Tahatū onboarding sessions run with secondary schools and kura. If you can’t attend an online session or want a refresher, you can watch the relevant training video. These videos will be progressively uploaded throughout the onboarding process.

    Tahatū career idea videos

    The Tahatū career idea videos list tells you which career ideas currently feature a video about someone doing that job.

    Tahatū user guide
    Aratohu kaiwhakamahi Tahatū,

    The Tahatū user guide shows you how to navigate Tahatū and what's in each section of the website.

    This digital version of the user guide will be updated as new features and functionality are developed over time.

    Educators’ guide to the Interest quiz
    Te aratohu kaiwhakaako mō te kairoro Kaingākau,

    The educators' guide to the Interest quiz explains the background theory, terminology, questions and results, and how you can use the quiz with students across year groups.

    Activity guides
    Ngā aratohu mahinga,

    These activity guides can be used to introduce Tahatū to students and work through its different sections.

    There are PDF and Word versions of each activity guide so you can tailor them to your teaching approach.

    Tahatū Hunt
    Aru Tahatū,

    The Tahatū Hunt is an online treasure hunt your students can do to learn how to navigate Tahatū. It’s based around 4 sections of the Tahatū website:

    • Get inspired Kia whakaohooho
    • School and NCEA Kura
    • Study and training Ako
    • Work Mahi.

    For each section there are 4 or 5 questions that students answer by hunting for the information on Tahatū.

    Employability skills
    Ngā pūkenga mō te whiwhi mahi,

    The employability skills worksheet and examples can be used to learn about the skills valued by employers. Students can also explore their own story to identify the skills they already have.

    Resources for learners

    Future Finder
    Tūhura Anamata,

    Future Finder can be used as a fun, hands-on activity to explore career possibilities.

    Resources for whānau

    We've developed a range of communications resources you can use and adapt to update parents and whānau about Tahatū.

    Tahatū whānau information leaflet
    Mātārere mōhiohio Tahatū mā te whānau,

    An information leaflet to help parents, caregivers and whānau learn more about Tahatū and support rangatahi using the website. You can print this for students to take home or attach it to your newsletter and email updates to parents and whānau.

    Newsletter and email content that you can tailor and share with parents and whānau so they can support their rangatahi using Tahatū.
