Tasks
- operate medical instruments and equipment
- test patient heart and lung functioning
- monitor and diagnose health conditions
- perform electrocardiograms (ECGs) and other medical tests
- fit medical devices into patients
- prepare patients for medical procedures
- maintain sterile work areas and equipment
- collect medical information from patients and whānau
- assist during surgery

- a relevant tertiary qualification in biological sciences, medical studies or similar area
- a Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Technology

- 1 to 2 years’ experience as a trainee cardiac technician
