Clinical neuropsychologists
- usually work regular business hours but may work evenings or weekends

- assess problems and strengths through interviews
- carry out mental performance tests
- develop treatment plans for clients
- provide behavioural and other therapy
- help clients understand themselves
- observe behaviour and emotional responses
- support self-development and problem solving
- advise on managing stress and emotions
- monitor progress and adjust treatments
- keep records of assessments and therapies
You need more than one qualification and experience to become a clinical neuropsychologist.
You need
- an accredited qualification including 1,500 hours of approved supervised practice in neuropsychology
- an Annual Practising Certificate
- to pass a police check
- to pass a background check
You may need
- a Doctor of Clinical Psychology or similar
