- to do an apprenticeship and get a New Zealand Certificate in Agriculture (Dairy Farming) (Level 3 and 4) OR a New Zealand Certificate in Dairy Processing (Level 3, 4 and 5) OR a New Zealand Certificate in Farm Management (Level 4) or similar
- a New Zealand Diploma in Dairy Processing (Level 6) OR a New Zealand Diploma in Farm Management (Level 6) or similar
- a Bachelor of Agribusiness (Level 7)
- to be registered with Federated Farmers of New Zealand

You usually need NCEA Level 2 to do the study or training for this job.
