Career action plans – My journey planners, Ngā mahere mahi aramahi – Aku pūwhakamahere haerenga aramahi

These resources are a set of career action plans developed for different year groups. There are different action plans for:

• Year 7-8
• Year 9-10
• Year 11
• Year 12-13

These resources include guided instructions and links to activities and resources on Tahatū, drawing on the concept of a journey.

Each action plan has been specifically designed for the developmental stage of the year group. The action plans draw on the 3 career competencies:

• self-awareness
• opportunity awareness
• decide and act.

They offer a clear starting point and focus for career learning at each stage.

All plans are interactive documents and students can save a copy and continue working on it throughout the year.

Focuses on helping young people explore who they are and introduces them to the world of work.

Builds awareness of students’ values, interests and skills, and provides opportunities to explore different jobs and industries while linking these to school subjects.

Supports students to explore their subjects and training options and encourages deeper career exploration related to roles they may be interested in.

Helps students connect their values, interests and skills to future work and training pathways. The focus is on goal setting and identifying clear next steps.
