- Investigate transportation incidents, violations, or complaints.
- Review documents or materials for compliance with policies or regulations.
- Issue certificates or licences.
- Schedule operational activities.
- Coordinate flight control or management activities.
- Record service or repair activities.
- Recommend changes or corrective procedures.
- Monitor equipment gauges or displays to ensure proper operation.
- Pilot aircraft.
You need experience and a qualification to become an aviation inspector.
You need
- experience in similar work
- a relevant tertiary qualification
- an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Licence (AMEL) or recognised equivalent experience
- 60 months of practical aviation engineering experience if no formal engineering training
You may need
- a New Zealand Certificate or Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering
- a pilot licence
- relevant military experience
If you’re in school
You need NCEA Level 3 to do the study or training for this job.
