You need to do training to become a bus driver and a qualification may be useful.
You need
- to complete on-the-job training courses
- to have held a full driver licence for at least two years
- a passenger (P) endorsement
- to pass a 'fit and proper person' check
- to pass a medical assessment
You may need
- a Class 2 or 4 driver licence
- a New Zealand Certificate in Passenger Service (Level 3) School Bus, Urban Bus, and Long Distance Bus strands
- to pass a children's worker safety check
