You need a qualification to become an arborist.
You need
- a New Zealand Certificate in Horticulture (Arboriculture) (Level 3) OR a New Zealand Certificate in Horticulture Services (Arboriculture) (Level 4)
You may need
- a New Zealand Certificate in Electricity Supply (Utility Arboriculture) (Level 3)
- relevant experience in arboriculture
- climbing or Elevated Working Platform experience
- a driver licence
If you’re in school
You usually need NCEA Level 2 to do the study or training for this job.
