You need more than one qualification to become an orthodontist.
You need
- to complete the Health Sciences First Year programme at the University of Otago
- a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Otago
- a Doctorate of Clinical Dentistry in Orthodontics from the University of Otago
- two years' experience as a dentist
- an Annual Practising Certificate
- to pass a police check
You may need
- to complete the primary examination and join the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (RACDS)
