You usually need experience to become a purchasing agent and a qualification may be useful.
You may need
- experience in procurement, purchasing or supply management
- a New Zealand Certificate in Supply Management (Level 5)
- a New Zealand Certificate in Infrastructure Procurement Procedures (Level 6)
- a Graduate Diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain Management
- to complete the New Zealand Goverment Graduate Procurement Training Programme

You usually need NCEA Level 3 to do the study or training for this job.
