Scholarships for Māori learners, Ngā karahipi mā ngā ākonga Māori

If your whakapapa is Māori, find out what scholarships you could apply for and put yourself forward – you could get hundreds or even thousands of dollars towards tertiary study costs.

    StudySpy – Use the ethnicity filter on StudySpy’s free scholarship database to search for New Zealand and international scholarships.

    Generosity New Zealand – Search the givME scholarships and awards database. Organisations that subscribe to the database can give you access, so you don’t have to pay – ask at a public library, Citizens Advice Bureau, community centre, tertiary education provider or secondary school.

    MoneyHub – A list of all scholarships, including Māori education scholarships, available to Year 13 students planning to study at university the next year.

    Toitū Kaupapa Māori Mātauranga – Māori Education Trust – Secondary, undergraduate and postgraduate scholarships.

    Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu – Kā Pūtea Scholarships – Tertiary and exceptional scholarships for Ngāi Tahu iwi members.

    Kia Ora Hauora – A database of health scholarships for Māori students (requires registration).

    Māori and Pasifika Trades Training – Scholarships for Māori and Pasifika people aged 16 to 40 in a wide range of skilled trades, including construction, engineering, hospitality, health and hairdressing. Scholarship programmes include pre-trades training fees, mentoring, work-readiness skills and job placements.
