Earth sciences is the study of the nature, composition and structure of the Earth and its atmosphere and hydrosphere. It gives you an understanding of the Earth's crust, soil, landforms, water and gases, and how to assess and prove these events and processes, reach conclusions, find new areas to investigate, and communicate them.

Biological sciences is the study of the structure, function, reproduction, growth, evolution and behaviour of living organisms. It gives you an understanding of genetics, physiology, and how living organisms relate to one another and their environment, and how to assess and prove biological data to reach conclusions and find new areas to investigate.
