One million visits for Tahatū in first year,

Tahatū Career Navigator has reached a significant milestone, recording more than 1 million New Zealand-based visits in its first year.
Tahatū was first introduced to schools and kura in June 2025, it replaced the careers.govt.nz website in December 2025.
Tahatū delivers a comprehensive, data-informed experience, combining occupational information, workforce insights and integrated planning tools that expand on the functionality previously available through careers.govt.nz.
Over the past year, more than 33,600 people created Tahatū accounts and users completed the Interest quiz more than 264,000 times.
The most visited areas of the site were Explore career ideas (230,974 views), Interest quiz (171,608 views) and Explore study and training (55,678 views).
The most viewed career profiles were Lawyer, Registered Nurse and Carpenter, while the most-watched videos were How to stand out when applying for a job and How to choose your subjects. The Job Hunters’ Workbook was the most downloaded Tahatū resource.
The past year also saw the release of the Career Practice Hub, which provides resources and support for career educators and whānau.
The Hub’s most downloaded resource, the Tahatū career map, supports career practitioners and educators to combine Tahatū Career Navigator and Inspiring the Future, the Tertiary Education Commission’s free career exploration programme in schools, into their education plans and classroom activities.
The Hub continues to strengthen careers practice with the addition of new activities, resources, guidance and research.
Further enhancements are planned for Tahatū in the year ahead, including the introduction of Path Finder, a new career pathway exploration tool, alongside additional job insights and regular content updates.
