You need experience to become an embalmer and a qualification may be useful.

- experience in similar work

- a New Zealand Diploma in Embalming (Level 5)
- to register with the New Zealand Embalmers Association
- to pass a police check
If you’re in school
You usually need NCEA Level 2 to do the study or training for this job.
