You need a qualification to become a family and marriage counsellor.
You need
- a bachelor's degree in counselling, applied counselling or similar area
- to pass a police check
You may need
- a Graduate Diploma of Family Studies
- a postgraduate qualification in counselling or counselling studies
- a master's degree in counselling or counselling studies
- experience working with children and families
- a driver licence
- to be registerd with New Zealand Association of Counsellors
